Catering opportunities

Local businesses and organizations reach out to EME's Food Hall all the time to cater their events, and we get more requests than we can take on. So we pass them to our Commissary Kitchen members. We make the first contact, help coordinate the details, and connect you with the client. You cook and get paid. EMES keeps a small referral fee on each booked job.

Extras and kitchen rules

Add-on services

• Storage space: $50 /month (oversize $100)

• Private drop-in hours: $25 /hour

Kitchen rules

• Bring your own equipment, utensils and cleaning supplies. Items left overnight are billed as storage.

• Clean and organize the kitchen during your shift.

• Unused hours don't roll over to the next month.

How to get started

  • Register your business name on Sunbiz.org.

  • Get a free EIN directly from IRS.gov

  • Get a DUNS number (dnb.com) if your buyers ask for one.

  • Earn your ServSafe Food Manager certificate. ServSafe.com

  • Wholesale Only: prepare your labels, an SOP, then apply for the FDACS food manufacturing permit at fdacs.gov​

  • For Catering, Food Trucks, Mobile, Non Seating, and Hotel/Restaurant licenses, apply for a license at the DBPR https://www2.myfloridalicense.com/ 

  • Sign the kitchen agreement with us.

  • Pay the $105 application fee and deposit, and set up monthly billing.
